Gospel Keys Organ 350 Review
Gospel Keys Organ 350 is a two-hour dvd course that helps musicians play full songs with the organ after practicing alternative walks, bass lines, vamps and others. A bonus reference pamphlet that contains pictures of every chord and movement in the video is given for the first 250 customers.
Gospel Keys Organ 350 dvd course is being billed as a side-by-side journey that is supposed to help one with the basics of playing congregational songs by ear on the organ while skipping the common mistakes associated with learning on one’s own. Jermaine Griggs, the product’s creator, goes on to say that getting instantly competent with the organ takes only mastery in what he calls a “third element.”
Gospel Keys Organ 350: Customer Feedback
Through Gospel Keys Organ 350 videos, viewers are provided with learning tools in using the drawbars and percussions that give a more modern effect. The toe-heel strategy in handling the bass pedals is also emphasized. Many other techniques are demonstrated using clear views of how the hand and the foot work can be synchronized for a smooth playing in the organ.
Those who have actually experienced the training have the following statements:
“I believe this site is a God-given resource, and a chain breaking, devil destroying work of adoration and glory to God! And this is coming from an organist who has a strong desire to be successful in playing the keyboard as well as the organ.”
Algieres, on zone.hearandplay.com
“I need a producer with sick beats and I think you are the one… as a matter of fact I know you are cause your beats are sick. These beats are off the HOOK!”
Ncballa1, on indie-musicnetwork.com
“I have been playing the organ by ear for a few years and decided I needed a boost to my techniques that seemed to be totally stagnating. I found Hearandplay.com and could not believe the wealth of info available to the musical community!!!”
Kari Morgan, on zone.hearandplay.com
Gospel Keys Organ 350: Final Word
As a basic part of the playing the organ by ear series, Gospel Keys Organ 350 seems like a worthwhile investment. For a value of only $49.95, it is possible for one to jump-start a vocation in playing praise and devotional songs on the organ. Lastly, learning seems to be made easier with organ instructors like Kevin Nickelson who has more than 25 years experience in the industry.

This is definitely not for beginners.
There is a veritable wealth in here, yet it is not spoon-fed and you’ll have to stop and slowly extract what goes by so quickly on the screen.
The whole DVD is done in A flat, so for those not used to this key, you may either want to become proficient in it or transpose to something more comfortable. (I moved things down to G, a key that I work and improvise in mainly, yes I’m not a professional musician, and there the harmonic structure and relationship became much more understandable to me.)
It looks like Kevin has quite large hands and effortlessly seems to span an octave plus two full tones while changing chord notes in the middle. I tried one of these with just an octave plus one tone span, and sprained my hand by holding it for too long. I had to nurse the hand back to its old self, using linement, in around a week! So take it easy, especially if you’ve got little hands like me.
I doubt that there is really an easy way- to get anything you’ve got to work hard at it.
There are a lot of subtle harmonic details here and you’ll have to watch carefully, take note, and practice!
I haven’t compared this to other Gospel organ videos, yet have found some of the other stuff offered on YouTube and elsewhere to look a bit more user-friendly in their presentation.
Having said this, it seems that there are many secrets woven into this course, and its all there to be gained from by diligence.
