This is definitely not for beginners.
There is a veritable wealth in here, yet it is not spoon-fed and you'll have to stop and slowly extract what goes by so quickly on the screen.
The whole DVD is done in A flat, so for those not used to this key, you may either want to become proficient in it or transpose to something more comfortable. (I moved things down to G, a key that I work and improvise in mainly, yes I'm not a professional musician, and there the harmonic structure and relationship became much more understandable to me.)
It looks like Kevin has quite large hands and effortlessly seems to span an octave plus two full tones while changing chord notes in the middle. I tried one of these with just an octave plus one tone span, and sprained my hand by holding it for too long. I had to nurse the hand back to its old self, using linement, in around a week! So take it easy, especially if you've got little hands like me.
I doubt that there is really an easy way- to get anything you've got to work hard at it.
There are a lot of subtle harmonic details here and you'll have to watch carefully, take note, and practice!
I haven't compared this to other Gospel organ videos, yet have found some of the other stuff offered on YouTube and elsewhere to look a bit more user-friendly in their presentation.
Having said this, it seems that there are many secrets woven into this course, and its all there to be gained from by diligence.
