   To play it by ear takes a lot of skill. Most people that play piano, play it with their fingers.

   The song is not really gift because there that it sounds in front of you are playing by ear means.

   I also play piano by chords – you just have to know your chord structures and then go from there.There are several music book that can help with your chords too. I agree you should practice – pratice makes perfect. I know some people that can play by ear and maybe it is a gift – wish i could play by ear too. Hope i helped you out. Your friend peter b

   For some others learn by reading and writing always say playnot practice its more fun that way.
   For some others learn by ear is natural for some others learn by reading and writing always say playnot practice its more fun that way.
