I’ve been playing for piano for a while. I’m wondering if there’s any way you can play by ear because I always want to buy sheet music but my mom won’t let me so I was wondering if I can find a way where I can just hear the music and learn how to play by ear.

I’ve been playing piano ever since I can remember, and I can play by ear. I allways have. Even if it’s a song I heard years ago on the radio, I can still sometimes remember it and play it well. It’s a creepy gift I have. But I don’t know how to read music well.
So how do I explain this… Well maybe you could listen to the song alot, and then try humming, singing, or whistling it constantly, even if it’s just in your head. Get it stuck in your mind till you know the tune well. Then try going to the piano and hum each note of the song, one by one, and find the note on the piano that you’re humming untill they’re the same note. Try doing this for each note untill you can play the melody on the piano just as well as you can hum it, and then add the chords. You might need to listen to the song again and again to find what the right chords are. I hope that works. I’m sorry that you can’t buy sheet music! Poor thing! Just listen to as much music as possable, esspecialy the songs you want to play, so that they’ll be in your mind and pumping through your vains like a heartbeat.
